This paper deals with the study of the radiation field arising from a plane distribution of isotropic sources in a plane-parallel, infinite medium. The classical Neumann method is used together with the theory of singular integrals of the Cauchy type. The main advantage of this technique is that it is available for a general treatment of radiative transfer problems in semi-infinite and finite spaces.
