We consider the two methods currently used to determine the division corrections of declination circles. We first obtain the expression of the covariance matrix of the solution using H∅g's method, and we remark that this matrix can be very easily compared with the covariance matrix of the solution using Benevides-Soares and Boczko's method. We also give a lower limit for the variance of the unknowns using the rosette method of order m, and we compare this theoretical limit with the variance of our choice of rosette apertures.
