The laser microprobe extraction technique has been adapted for the
determination of concentrations and stable isotopic compositions of
carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. Initial studies on the distribution of
nitrogen in an iron meteorite (Uwet) and a carbonaceous chondrite
(Murchison) have been undertaken.
