The Pierre Auger Observatory takes the lead in the quest for the origin
of the highest energy cosmic rays. Still growing, it is already the
largest experiment and has equalled the exposure of all previous
experiments. First promising results were presented at the International
Cosmic Ray Conference, Pune, India, in August 2005.
