The high redshift (z=3.787) radio loud quasar PKS 1937-101 is one of the most distant objects detected in the ROSAT All Sky Survey. A deep HRI observation confirms the physical association of the ROSAT source with the quasar and a spectral analysis indicates that the object has a very flat power law slope. With the deduced soft X-ray luminosity of L_(0.1-2.4keV)_~2.4x10^47^erg/s PKS 1937-101 is intrinsically one of the X-ray and optically brightest objects known.
