The host galaxy of QSO 2130+099 is suspected to be a barred spiral (Hickson & Hutchings 1987, Heap 1986). We will use the unique imaging capabilities of the GHRS to map the nucleus of QSO 2130+099 in UV (1200- 3200A) light. These observations will (1) demonstrate that the GHRS' imaging capabilites have been recovered by COSTAR, and (2) provide the first high-resolution optical map of the nucleus/inner host galaxy of a quasar. THIS IS PART OF HEAP'S CYCLE-4 GTO PROGRAM.
