In this paper the relationship between the different temperatures present in a radiative plasma is examined. In particular, the physical and operational meaning of Eckart's temperature is discussed. Following an alternative way the radiative bulk viscosity coefficient is reobtained and a more precise formulation for a maximum entropy production in the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) background is also suggested.
