An analysis is presented of the manned and unmanned spacecraft recoveries which have taken place between August 1980 and June 1982, with data being included for some earlier unmanned missions. The various conditions relating to the recoveries are discussed, and an attempt is made to ascertain whether or not the fourth generation photoreconnaissance satellites are recovered after being de-orbited.
