It is shown that the nonrotating origin introduced by Guinot (1979) is nothing but a departure point on the movable equatorial plane, and that its introduction does not avoid the uncertainty of determining the equinox correction. The mean right ascension of the fictitious mean sun by Newcomb (1895) is reviewed, and the fact is discussed that the mean right ascension of the nonrotating origin is the precession in RA when the nutation is neglected. The realization of the departure point among stars is discussed, and the interrelation between Guinot's notions and the conventional concepts is considered, presenting numerical relations. Finally, the effects of nutation are addressed.
