Stable longitudinal variations of N(h) profiles in the topside ionosphere were detected on the basis of Intercosmos-19 data. Minima of NmF2 and dNe/dh at longitudes of 100 and 240 deg alternate with maxima at 160 and 320 deg. These variations can be explained by variations of vertical electrodynamic drift, probably connected with electric-field variations at the equator.
