Data on fluxes of various nuclei groups, obtained with Cerenkov and scintillation counters on board the Molniya 1 satellite from November 1973 to November 1974, are analyzed. Two cases characterized by an increase in intensity of the nuclear component of cosmic rays are examined. In one case (Jan. 2, 1974) the intensity of multiply charged nuclei increased while that of the proton and alpha-particle fluxes did not. The increase lasted 40 min and was caused almost exclusively by nuclei with Z ranging from 3 to 21. In the second case (July 5, 1974) the increase in cosmic ray intensity lasted about 1 hr, followed by a rapid drop to the normal level. This event coincided with a 2B-type chromospheric flare.
