The present state of planetary cosmogony is reviewed. The unresolved questions of preplanetary disk dynamics and cosmochemical problems are presented. A brief discussion of the revision of classical theories on the initially cold and quasihomogeneous state of the Earth is offered. The body of presently available data favors early partial melting and differentiation of the planets already during the course of their formation.
