Observe Jupiter with the FOC for south polar auroral emissions by H2 at 1600 A, using two different filter-pairs. In each case, a filter-pair is used to reduce the red leak. This observation will serve as a test to determine which filter-pair produces the optimum signal, by maximizing throughput at auroral wavelengths and minimizing both near (1800-2000) and long (visible) wavelength contamination. Continuum observations, also with two different filter-pairs, will improve the accuracy of position-finding on Jupiter through detailed limb-fitting. At auroral wavelengths, auroral emission dominates continuum emission, making limb- fitting impossible.
