A simple energy balance of comet ejection from the Uranus-Neptune region is discussed. If we assume that the orbits of Uranus and Neptune remain stable during the ejection process, the necessary energy loss of perturbing planets needs a compensation. Planetary perturbations leading to short-period orbits of a part of comets are suggested as an explanation. Considerations about the total energy conservation become more important if a high mass of Oort cloud is supposed.
