Ultra-heavy galactic cosmic rays have been of great interest for the last several decades since a knowledge of their elemental and isotopic abundances yields important information relevant to their origin, the nucleosynthesis processes in which they were created, their selection and injection into the cosmic ray beam, their acceleration and propagation to earth, their age, and to evolution of galactic matter. In this paper the current status of ultra-heavy measurements is described, an approach to taking the next experimental step is discussed, and the knowledge that can be gained from such an investigation is outlined.
