Consideration is given to the time-optimal control of spacecraft motion in a plane almost-circular orbit by means of low-thrust engines. The appropriate thrust program is developed by combining necessary conditions of optimality in the form of the maximum principle and an asymptotic method of nonlinear mechanics (the averaging method). Particular attention is given to the two-point problem of time-optimal control, and time-optimal changes of the size, form, and orientation of the orbit are determined.
