An alternative to the Einsteinian conception of gravity which rules out
the existence of gravity waves is presented. This approach envisages
gravitation as a macroscopic phenomenon arising from the averaged field
equations of a model which depicts hadrons as conformally flat
microuniverses embedded in normal flat space-time.
