Many satellites have been and will be launched recently for monitoring the Earth-wide circumstances such as the greenhouse effect. The preflight calibration of the satellite radiometers is the key to obtain the high quality data and to analyze the physical quantity precisely. National Research Laboratory of Metrology (NRLM) developed the preflight calibration system for JERS-1 OPS and so on which uses a large integrating sphere as a working standard. The cross-calibration experiment is planned to study the calibration uncertainly and compatibility of integrating spheres for calibrating different radiometers. This paper describes the cross-calibration activities at NRLM among POLDER-OCTS on ADEOS and among ASTER-MODIS-MISR on EOS AM-1.
