The effect of the proton energy spectrum on the maximum value of the PCA at a frequency of 30 MHz is examined on the basis of data on 89 events during 1970-1979. It is shown that there exists an optimal threshold energy, equal on the average to 6.3 MeV, for which the correlation between the integral proton flux and the PCA amplitude does not depend on the proton spectrum index. At an energy of 10 MeV, greater than the optimal threshold energy, the softer energy spectrum corresponds to stronger absorption.
