The cross-correlation functions presently estimated for two-color, single-star scintillation involve two wavelength filters that are centered on 409 and 800 nm; turbulent layer heights are then measured through the combination of these estimates and the Hudgin (1976) atmospheric dispersion theory. The vertical refractive-index fluctuation structure constant's profiles are obtained every 2 min 45 sec by means of the slowly decreasing elevation of Sirius. When the zenith angle of the observed star is greater than 70 deg, turbulence heights smaller than 800 m can be detected with a vertical resolution of 300 m.
