We propose to observe 1ES1615+061, the only Seyfert 1 galaxy, for which ASCA data suggest that the - unusually intense (EW~590 eV) - K-alpha fluorescent iron line is emitted by a substantially ionized relativistic accretion disk. In this scenario, the historically remarkably variable (about a factor of 30) soft X-ray emission is mainly governed by a change in the accretion rate. The goals of this observation are: a) to determine the iron line profile; b) to characterize for the first time self-consistently the physical (temperature, ionization structure) and geometrical properties of the reprocessing matter. We request 40 ks of pn exposure time. Time was already granted to us to observe 1ES1615+061 during the AO2 as a "priority C" target, but the observation was not performed.
