BD+303639 and NGC6543 are among those planetary nebulae with a Wolf-Rayet central star. They are interesting because chemical studies of the ionized gas reveal that the nebula is hydrogen rich while the central stars of these nebulae are hydrogen poor. This chemical transition from hydrogen rich to hydrogen poor still remains a puzzle. These planetary nebulae emit in the X-rays. The X-ray emission is probably produced by interaction of the mass loss from the central star and nebular material. A change of the different abundances in the central star and in the nebula might occur in the X-ray emitting region. We then propose to observe BD+303639 and NGC6543 using XMM-Newton in order to better understand the chemical transition history of these objects.
