Neutrino-neutrino forward scattering via the standard model weak neutral current is flavor dependent. Incorporating this into neutrino propagation yields effective one-particle equations in limiting situations. But for general conditions relevant to stellar collapse or the early universe, the flavor evolution of massive neutrinos is a many-body phenomenon.
