It is well-known that realistic mass density distribution of a gravitational lens is described much better in the framework of the non-singular isothermal sphere model (NSIS-model) (or the model of an isothermal sphere with a core) than in the framework of the singular isothermal sphere model. We present an full analytical investigation of the NSIS-model, namely, we obtain analytical solutions of the gravitational lens equation, expressions for magnification, conditions for multiple solutions of gravitational lens equation, etc. The results are very useful for an analysis of properties of non-compact gravitational microlenses such as neutralino stars and a comparison with properties of the standard Schwarzschild microlenses to distinguish compact and non-compact microlenses.
