The paper is mainly devoted to the discussion of similarity of the rotational problem to the statical Love tidal problem for a liquid medium. First, the general case for the statical Love tidal problem is presented, with emphasis on its mathematical aspect so that its further extension and modification will be convenient. The case of a fluid planet is then discussed, and is treated in consistent form by the geometrical interpretation of the hydrostatic equilibrium condition. The rotational problem (with perturbational expansions of gravity moments to the second order) and synchronous rotation are then discussed, in tidal terms. Finally, interpretation of density modelling of the planet is discussed.
