We examine five measurements of the solar disk diameter made with a
pinhole instrument by Tycho in 1591 and Kepler in 1600-1602 [1]. Those
are the first accurate measurements of the solar disk diameter available
in literature, even if Ptolemy and Copernicus already did such
measurements [2].
