Scientific paper

Nonlinear equations describing the generation of irregularities in the lower part of the high-latitude E-region under the effect of high-power radio waves due to the Joule heating of electrons are derived and studied in the framework of the three-wave approximation. Stationary spectra of short-wave two-stream and long-wave gradient-drift disturbances are obtained. It is shown that the stationary periodic nonlinear structures that are formed travel at a drift velocity characterizing the electrojet.
