The magnetic field experiments on board MARS-2, 3 orbiters have detected the maximal field 30 nT at the day side of the Martian magnetosheath. The recent search on PHOBOS-2 s/c has confirmed the previous day side results and in addition has revealed that the magnetic field inside the areomagnetic tail is controlled by the interplanetary magnetic field (IMP). It follows that the induction effects dominate the solar wind interaction with Mars. Up to now it is difficult to extract the contribution of some weak dipole field of Mars in solar wind interaction processes. It is likely that a weak outer dipole field can exist as a product of magnetized rock mantle after the dynamo in the Martian core has stopped. This field or its traces may be detected at the low altitude by the future orbiters.
