We consider the role of massless scalar neutrinos in processes relevant to stellar evolution. Special attention is given to eē-->ν~ ν¯~ and the more exotic process γγ-->ν~ ν¯~. We conclude that ultralight scalar neutrinos, if they exist, will be produced most copiously through neutral-current interactions and will enhance the energy-loss rate by 5%.
