The Tokai-to-Kamioka (T2K) experiment is a second generation long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment which aims at a sensitive search for the νe appearance. The T2K near neutrino detectors at 280 m from the target will measure the neutrino beam properties prior to the oscillation and interaction cross sections. The main design features of these detectors and recent studies of new scintillator/WLS fiber detectors readout by multipixel APD's are presented.
