Whitworth & Summers have recently added a two-dimensional continuum to the discrete set of these solutions that were known earlier. This addition is achieved only by relaxing the requirement that there be no weak discontinuity on the critical characteristic that propagates from the infinite past to reach the centre at the instant at which a collapsed core begins to form.
