Trends measured between February 4, 1982 and November 30, 1985 at Palmer Station, Antarctica for five atmospheric trace gases are reported. Averages of the hourly measurements for the week beginning January 1, 1984 were 199.6, 329.0, 124.2, 150.2, and 301.3 ppt, and annual mixing ratio increases were 5.87, 5.45, 5.31, 1.29, and 0.24 percent/yr for CFCl3, CF2Cl2, CH3CCl3, CCl4, and N2O, respectively. Similar rates of increase are reported at Cape Grim, Tasmania for the July, 1978 to June 1983 period, and these increases in the Southern Hemisphere are smaller than those found in the late 1970's at South Pole.
