Resolution characteristics are analyzed for Venera 15 and 16 radar panoramas, used for the mapping of the Venus surface. A formula for determining the resolution over the field of the panorama is obtained which can be used to calculate the quantitative characteristics of the resolution. With the proposed approach, it is possible to use the least squares method to assign the appropriate weight for place coordinates measured on the panorama.
