The partitioning of Zr between clinopyroxenes and hydrous, intermediate magmatic liquids was investigated in a series of experiments at 9-10 kbar and 950°-1000°C. The mean of seven measurements of the clinopyroxene/melt partition coefficient is 0.27, in good agreement with estimates based on phenocryst/ matrix concentration ratios in natural rocks.
