Recent observations and theoretical developments have re-awakened interest in finding out what happens at the boundary between closed and open magnetic field regions in the solar corona, i.e., between coronal loops and coronal holes. We model the boundary region between closed and open magnetic field regions, i.e., coronal loops and coronal holes. Both linear and nonlinear properties are explored. An acceleration of plasma along the coronal hole magnetic field direction is observed. Published by Elsevier Ltd on behalf of COSPAR.
