EV Aurigae was originally classified as a delta Cephei variable in 1943, with a period of 4.87228 days. Surprisingly, Berdnikov found no variability at all in 1985. CCD observations at VMI show some periodicity at up to 0.2 magnitude, but with a variable amplitude. We conclude that EV Aur may be a double-mode semi-regular variable, similar to the UU Her stars.
