The development of supersonic mass flows in Mira variables is investigated. Grain and molecular opacity sources are responsible for radiative momentum transfer. Solutions with azimuthal velocity components receive preliminary consideration. Supersonic solutions are found for streams with low initial Mach numbers. Model flows are broadly consistent with observed flow properties. Grain radii are severely restricted through sputtering to a submicron size range. Terminal fractional grain condensations are typically high.
