We develop an iterative procedure to calculate three-dimensional P-wave velocity fields by earthquake observations in areas of dense seismicity. We describe the principal features of the algorithm, considering the stability of the experimental data and of the derived velocity fields as well as problems of averaging results. Results are presented for the Kuril-Kamchatka seismic zone.
