The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) thermospheric general circulation model (TGCM) for the Earth was modified to examine the 3-D structure and circulation of the upper atmosphere of Mars (MTGCM). The solar, orbital, and seasonal responses of the Mars thermosphere above 100 km were examined for various combinations of input parameters.
