We present optical spectroscopy of the suspected SUUMa type variable ASAS 153616-0839.1, recently discovered in Libra (Pojmanski, G. 2004, VSNET alert 7982). The object shows a very blue continuum, with hydrogen and HeI lines in absorption, only H showing an emission core. HeII and higher ionised lines are present in emission. The spectrum is typical for a SUUMa type system in early outburst phase and thus confirms the photometric classification.
