An analytic solution is obtained for the problem of the force of the
ejection of an ideally conducting, axially symmetrical toroid of finite
aspect ratio from an inhomogeneous field. The solution can be used in
the calculation of the ejection of toroidal flare transients from the
inhomogeneous field of the solar corona.
