Near nucleus images of comet Halley have been taken in December, 1985. A strong southward jet has been observed from 9h 07m to 12h 29m UT of December 12. Its expanding velocity is more than 0.3 km/s. The dust density in the jet is at least 9 times of that in the quiet region. The width of the jet in C2 emission filtergram is broader than that in the white light, which implies that the C2 molecule is created from the parent molecule during the ejection in the space around the nucleus.
