Seyfert 1 galaxies and QSOs show a number of intriguingcorreelations between their X-ray spectra, kinematics in theform of broad-line widths, and Fe II spectrum. Recent ROSATspectra have shown that these relationships are verypronounced in the the so-called narrow-line Seyfert 1s,Seyfert 1s with particularly narrow permitted lines. NLS1s asa class show very strong Fe II, and very steep soft X-rayspectra. By studying the entire X-ray--UV--optical continuum, combined with UV and optical emission line strengths (inparticular the Fe II lines), we will be able to shed light onthe nature of these relationships, and on the physicalconditions in the BLR.
