We request a single HST orbit with the GHRS+G270M to observethe bright Seyfert III Zw 2 to confirm a possible ionMg2absorption system at cz=2,225 kms. At this redshift, thispossible cloud is at the far edge of the local supercluster, and thus at the edge of the large void between the localsupercluster and the Perseus-Pisces supercluster. The Areciboredshift survey in this direction allows us to conclude thatthere are no galaxies brighter than -16.5 within 1.5 h^-1_100Mpc of this cloud. Since this cloud is so close (m-M)=32, theverification of this cloud's existence with the GHRS wouldallow a detailed study of a ionMg2 absorber associated with adwarf galaxy, an intergalactic cloud, or perhaps even with agalaxy void (which would be unprecedented and quiteunexpected). But this system must be confirmed before anyscientific conclusions can be drawn. A faint galaxy survey ofthis region is already underway at the NOAO/WIYN telescopewith the HYDRA spectrograph to search for possible associatedgalaxies.
