We found that the rotation does not affect the gas drag significantly, i.e., the features of the gas drag for rotating bodies is quite similar to that for non-rotating bodies, as found in previous studies, though the flow patterns in these two cases are significantly different. It can thus be concluded that gravity rather than rotation affects the gas drag. We also estimated the effect of torque due to gas drag on planetary rotation and found that the torque may reduce planetary rotation in the terrestrial zone, but not in the Jovian planetary zone.
