We used two sets of Galactic HI survey data; the Leiden/Dwingeloo HI survey (LDS; Hartmann & Burton 1997, Atlas of Galactic Neutral Hydrogen, Cambridge Univ. Press) and the Parkes survey (Cat. VIII/73), which is a part of the HI Southern Galactic Plane Survey (SGPS; McClure-Griffiths 2001, PhD thesis).
