The Supernova Legacy Survey (SNLS) was a 5 year (2003-2008) optical transient search conducted with the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) MegaCam imager. The primary goal was a measurement of the equation-of-state of the dark energy driving the accelerating expansion of the Universe using ~500 spectroscopically confirmed Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia). SNLS is a homogeneous ``rolling'' SN search, so it also provides measurements of SN Ia rates, and places constraints on the physical nature of their progenitor systems. In this proceeding we describe some of the latest, preliminary results from the SNLS third year SN Ia sample.
