We present results from our survey of nine of the nearest nuclear star clusters with laser guide star adaptive optics assisted Gemini/NIFS observations. The primary goal of the program is to constrain the formation history of nuclear star clusters in a wide range of galaxy types by resolving their kinematics and stellar populations. In addition we will also derive masses for the nuclear star clusters enabling us to test scaling relations with galaxy and bulge mass. Finally, our observations will enable us to find or place upper limits on any coincident black holes. Our initial findings show that rotation of the nuclear star clusters is quite common, even in early-type galaxy nuclei.
