A determination by Filippelli et al. of the branching ratio between N2(c prime 4 1Sigma u/+/) emission to the ground state and the a1Pi g state indicate that our earlier estimate of auroral N2(c prime 4 - X) emission intensities is too low, and that more than 1 MR is expected in this transition. The intensities of the bands in the N2(c prime 4 - a) O-V double prime progression follow values calculated on the basis of a transition moment invariant with internuclear separation.
