Radio Jets:Acceleration
Scientific paper
A wind-type solution is obtained in a general axisymmetric space-time when matter has angular momentum. An application of the solution is suggested in understanding the acceleration of the radio jets as matter flows along the funnel of a thick disk. Because the rotational energy of matter is converted entirely into poloidal energy, the acceleration of matter in a rotating wind is more than what is usually obtained from a flow-tube expansion alone.
